When life feels overwhelming, your breath is one of the fastest ways to signal safety to your nervous system.
Try this simple exercise:
Sit comfortably and gently relax your shoulders.
Inhale slowly through your nose for 4 seconds.
Hold your breath for 2 seconds.
Exhale gently through your mouth for 6 seconds, allowing your body to soften.
Repeat for 5–10 breaths.
As you breathe, quietly remind yourself:
"I am safe. I am present. I can slow down."
The longer exhale helps activate your body's relaxation response, encouraging your nervous system to shift from a state of stress into a state of calm.
Sometimes the most powerful healing begins with a single breath.
